Plot Summary:

     “The Queen’s Woman” is a work of alternate history that transports viewers back to the Warring States period, using the rivalry between the states of Qi and Chu as its historical backdrop. It underscores the themes of “heroes emerge in times of chaos,” “heroes love beauties,” and “beauties vie for heroes.” Unlike the “Palace” and “Beauty” series, which largely center on imperial harem dramas set against the splendor of prosperous eras, “The Queen’s Woman” places its characters, emotions, destinies, and conflicts squarely within a turbulent age. The characters’ personalities are shaped—and even cursed—by the chaos of the times, while their emotional arcs are tossed about by the instability of the world.

     The lifelong feud between two men and the cunning schemes of two women are constantly tossed about by the tides of history, unfolding in a tale of dramatic twists and towering highs and lows. Two women—engaged in a lifelong war—wrestle with an elusive love and sorrow that defies explanation. Men seek to conquer women by ruling the world; women, in turn, strive to rule the world by conquering men. This story reveals what it means for women to seize the world, while vividly portraying the plight of a hero who forsakes all—kingdoms and empires—for the woman he loves.
