Plot Summary:

     As war loomed, Yingzi staged a massive fire to frame the Communists, while Zhou Jingbo’s efforts were repeatedly thwarted. Having lost contact with the Party organization, she joined the 189th Regiment’s aid station, biding her time for action. Meanwhile, Duan Siqi arrived at the 189th as a journalist. The regiment, using the rescue of Qiao Yiyi’s father as bait, coerces Qiao Yiyi into spying on her friend, Zhou Jingbo. Meanwhile, the maidservant Xing’er, her schoolmate Qiao Yiyi, and the socialite Deng Jiawen all arrive at the 189th Regiment to serve as nurses. From this point on, the fates of these women become inextricably intertwined. After enduring the upheavals of love and the brutality of war, Qiao Yiyi grows mature and resolute, eventually rising to become the captain of the medical unit. On the eve of battle, Yingzi’s “Death No. 1” plan is exposed, and the Japanese army sets its sights on Changde. Bearing the stigma of being labeled a “traitorous gang,” the 189th Regiment accepts the dire mission to hold Changde at all costs. The young women of the medical unit, led by Zhou Jingbo and Qiao Yiyi, throw themselves into the bloody fray.
