Plot Summary:

Though the Ming dynasty enjoyed prosperity, its rigid Confucian orthodoxy relegated women to a low social status, barring them from practicing medicine and leaving their private ailments untreatable. The Tan family, a renowned medical lineage whose ancestors had served as imperial physicians for generations, suffered a devastating calamity after being framed by treacherous foes. From that day forward, a strict ancestral decree forbade any descendant from taking up the art of healing. Yet the astute Tan Yunxian, steeped in the traditions of her craft from childhood, secretly studied traditional Chinese medicine with her grandmother. She not only devoted herself to alleviating suffering and healing the sick with compassionate skill, earning the praise and support of ordinary people, but also gradually nurtured a deep resolve to save all women.
Thus, Yunxian not only encountered numerous difficulties and obstacles on her path to mastering medicine but also had to contend with the onslaught of feudal Confucian proprieties and prevailing social conventions.
