Plot Summary:

     The story begins in 1951, when the quick‑book performer Gong Tianpeng (played by Zhang Guoli) has been caring for his master’s wife and her family ever since his master heroically fell on the battlefield. Later, Gong Tianpeng takes his master’s son, Yan Shaobin (played by Yao Jinfeng), along with him on a goodwill mission to Korea. There, Yan Shaobin finally meets the girl he has long cherished—Gezi (played by Han Yuqin).

　　In fact, Pigeon was already carrying Yan Shaobin’s child when he sacrificed himself during an operation. To preserve his honor, she chose to keep this secret buried deep inside. As Pigeon’s belly grew larger day by day, Company Commander Zhao Hongshan—long secretly in love with her (played by Liu Xiaofeng)—approached Gong Tianpeng, hoping he would marry Pigeon and give her and the child a proper standing. But the truth was that Gong Tianpeng’s heart belonged to their mentor’s wife, He Guoyu (played by Song Dandan).
