Plot Summary:

In a primeval forest on the southwestern frontier of China, whenever villagers near the woods are suddenly attacked by wild beasts, a wild man comes to their rescue, saving them from peril. The local villagers call him the Mountain Sprite, played by Liu Ziman.

A group of uninvited guests shattered the forest’s silence. Reporter Tong (played by Cheng Yaohui), accompanied by his son Tong Hua, who has autism (played by Hu Tianyang), ventured into the woods and encountered a mountain spirit. Meanwhile, a poaching gang posing as an animal protection station spotted this wild man, and Station Chief Wu (played by Chang Haibo) and his men gave chase to the mountain spirit.

On the run, the mountain spirit was wounded. After Tong Hua found him, the two gradually became close friends. Tong Hua infiltrated the poachers’ stronghold twice, fighting against their illegal hunting. Station Chief Wu killed a young monkey, and in revenge, Tong Hua and the mountain spirit set up numerous traps throughout the forest, safeguarding it and bringing the poaching gang to justice.
