Plot Summary ：

　　In a secluded ancient temple deep in the mountains, the scholar Zhu Xiaolian (played by Deng Chao), on his way to the capital to take the imperial examinations… She is whisked away to a fairyland painted on the wall by a celestial maiden named Peony (played by Zheng Shuang), who has fallen from the mural. In this wondrous realm, countless fairies live free and joyful lives under the watchful care of their aunt (played by Yan Ni), yet they are forbidden to form romantic attachments with men—and any man who dares to trespass into the fairyland is dealt with harshly. There, Zhu Xiaolian meets another fairy, Shaoyao (played by Sun Li). With her help, he narrowly escapes being discovered by his aunt and manages to return safely to the mortal world. But worried about Peony’s safety, at Zhu Xiaolian’s request, a venerable master from an ancient temple (played by Simon Yam) grants him passage back to the fairyland. Yet even in this enchanted realm, where revelry and song reign supreme, Zhu Xiaolian can find no trace of the fairy Peony…
