Plot Summary:

Li Yihuan (played by Yang Zi) is the last surviving child of the former Ming emperor Yongli. From a young age, she was raised in Ming‑loyalist enclave Mingzhu Valley, where she and her senior martial‑arts peers—Zhu Cixuan (also known as Li Jianqing, played by Mao Zijun), Xue Qingcheng (played by Shu Chang), Ye Mosheng (played by Han Chengyu), and Fan Qianying (played by Sun Wei)—studied martial arts under their masters. As they grew older, Yihuan and her companions left Mingzhu Valley and, at their masters’ behest, sought to draw near to Emperor Kangxi (played by Qin Junjie), hoping to seize an opportunity to avenge their family’s grievances. From bickering rivals to kindred spirits, Yihuan and the young Kangxi eventually find themselves locked in bitter enmity. Their sincere feelings and their families’ deep‑seated hatred become the greatest chasm between them. Meanwhile, the other young men and women, while shouldering the heavy responsibilities entrusted to them by their mentors, also grapple with their own loves, hates, and personal vendettas. In the end, Kangxi’s vision of governing with benevolence and virtue wins over Yihuan; she renounces her vengeance and endeavors to persuade her friends to abandon private feuds that could spark war and harm the common people. Ultimately, Yihuan chooses to marry Kangxi. In return, Kangxi vows to become a wise and virtuous ruler, unite the hearts of the people, and usher in the glorious era of the Kangxi‑Qianlong reign.
