Plot Summary:

     At the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, Emperor Ling’s favored concubine, Lady Wang, gave birth to twin sons. Harassed by Empress He, she publicly claimed that she had only one son, Liu Xie, while the other, Liu Ping, was secretly taken away and raised in hiding outside the palace. Eighteen years later, as warlords vied for power and the puppet emperor Liu Xie lay gravely ill, he issued a secret edict summoning Liu Ping back to the capital to succeed him and restore the Han dynasty. Unaware of his true origins, Liu Ping, together with Sima Yi—his childhood companion—stepped into a battlefield shrouded in uncertainty.
