Plot Summary:

     During the Spring and Autumn period, the great feudal states of Jin, Chu, Qin, and others vied for supremacy, plunging the realm into chaos. In the first year of Duke Jing of Jin, a massive battle between Jin and Chu forever altered the fates of an ordinary physician, Cheng Ying (played by Wu Xiubo), and countless others. Tu’an Jia, the powerful and ambitious Grand Marshal of Jin (played by Sun Chun), hatched treacherous plots to frame the nobleman Zhao Shuo (played by Ji Ta). Though the brave and resourceful Cheng Ying managed to defuse the crisis, he could not prevent the tragic annihilation of the Zhao clan. In this hour of dire peril, the righteous Cheng Ying risked his life to rescue the last surviving member of the Zhao family—Zhao Wu. Around this fragile little life, countless loyal heroes and innocent people shed their blood.
