Plot Summary:

Rural girl Tian Xiaocao comes from a poor family, and her father is hopelessly addicted to gambling. After marrying her husband, Li Laishun, she endures constant harassment from her sisters-in-law, yet she always yields and shows patience; with her mother-in-law’s support, things remain relatively peaceful. The couple works steadily and diligently, and just as their life begins to improve, Laishun suffers an accident that leaves him paralyzed in bed. Soon after, he passes away, leaving Xiaocao to shoulder the heavy burden of caring for an entire extended family. She has harvested medicinal herbs, raised bullfrogs, taken on odd jobs, set up a street stall, and worked as a nanny.
