Adapted from Jiang Shengnan’s novel of the same name, the series turns its gaze to the grand sweep of the Liao Dynasty’s early and middle periods, chronicling the legendary life of Xiao Yanyan—brave and resolute, clad in splendid attire and riding forth with fiery spirit—the illustrious empress of the Liao court.
