Plot Summary:

During China’s Warring States period, the various states vied for supremacy. Qu Yuan, born into a distinguished family (played by Ma Ke), happened to fall in love with a common‑born slave girl named Mo Chou (played by Zhang Xinyu). Yet, amid internal strife and external threats, the beleaguered state of Chu could not allow this pair—though deeply attuned to one another—to remain together. Defying the barriers of social rank, they cherished and supported each other, only to be swept into the maelstrom of palace intrigue and the tangled web of familial grudges and national rivalries as they battled tyrants and powerful elites. Meanwhile, Qu Yuan, endowed with extraordinary talent and grand vision, embarked on a relentless journey to rescue his country from peril, unwavering in the face of death. Consumed by a burning desire to serve his nation yet powerless to change fate, he ultimately succumbed to despair and cast himself into the Miluo River; Mo Chou, meanwhile, took to her boat and vanished, drifting forever upon the rivers and lakes.
