Plot Summary:

Ban Shu, the daughter of Ban Chao, the Western Regions Protector during the Eastern Han Dynasty—played by Jing Tian—was separated from her parents at a young age and raised alone on the grasslands. On the eve of their long-awaited reunion, Ban Chao passed away due to illness. To win recognition from the Ban clan, Ban Shu devised a plan to enter the imperial palace, where she first became a female tutor at the noble girls’ school founded by Empress Dowager Deng, and later took on the same role at the boys’ palace academy. Cheerful and righteous at heart, she knew little of the classical texts of the Central Plains, leading to many humorous mishaps in the girls’ school. Yet her unconventional, creative reforms breathed new life into the formerly dreary classroom atmosphere. During her teaching, Ban Shu fell for Wei Ying, a seasoned male tutor at the palace academy—portrayed by Zhang Zhehan. With her passionate and bold spirit, she touched the heart of this man who could never forget his fiancée, who had tragically died. Just as their feelings were deepening, Ban Shu’s older sister unexpectedly returned, plunging both Ban Shu and Wei Ying into a complex emotional dilemma. In the end, relying on her wit and resourcefulness, Ban Shu joined forces with her students to bring the splendor of Han culture to the hearts of all, while also emerging stronger through the dual trials of career and love.
