Plot Summary:

     During the Warring States period, the various states vied for supremacy. Qu Yuan, born into a distinguished family, By a twist of fate, I fell in love with the folk girl—slave Mo Chou. Yet, in the midst of internal strife and external threats, with the state of Chu beset by crises on all fronts, though the two came to know and love one another, they could not remain together or lean on each other. To break free from the shackles of fate, they defied the barriers of social rank, cherishing and sustaining their love, only to be swept into a maelstrom of palace intrigue, power struggles, and the tangled web of familial grievances and national hatreds as they confronted tyrants and the privileged. Meanwhile, Qu Yuan, endowed with extraordinary talent and far-reaching vision, embarked step by step upon a journey to rescue his country from peril—a path he would follow unto death, never regretting it. With his heart set on serving his nation yet powerless to turn the tide, Qu Yuan at last fell into utter despair and, in anguish, cast himself into the Miluo River; while Mo Chou, for her part, took to her boat and sailed far away, thereafter drifting through the rivers and lakes.
