Recently, the Drama Division of the National Radio and Television Administration issued a notice announcing that, starting in August, it will launch the “100-Day Showcase” campaign for key television series, as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The launch ceremony will be broadcast live simultaneously at 8 p.m. on August 25, 2019, on major satellite channels including Beijing TV, Dragon TV, Zhejiang TV, Hunan TV, and Shandong TV, as well as on online platforms such as iQIYI, Youku, Tencent Video, and Mango TV.

The showcase has selected 86 productions for purchase and broadcast by television stations at all levels nationwide, particularly by provincial satellite channels. Among these 86 works, as many as ten were either fully produced or had post-production work undertaken by the Zhu Brothers, accounting for more than one-tenth of the total. These ten titles span a wide range of genres—including military dramas, rural-themed stories, modern crime‑investigation series, sports narratives, workplace‑inspirational tales, socially relevant dramas, and espionage thrillers—reflecting the diverse stages of the Chinese nation’s journey of struggle. On this occasion, the Zhu Brothers have joined forces with these ten outstanding productions, contributing their unique voice to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

"Ripples"

“Turbulent Times” is an urban romance series in which the Zhu brothers contributed to post-production across multiple departments, including sound, color grading, visual effects, DIT, and subtitles. Directed by Yu Ding, it stars Ren Zhong, Guo Xiaodong, Li Nian, and Che Xiao in the leading roles.

The series chronicles the 1990s, following the three Lu siblings as they grow up together in Shanghai’s traditional lane neighborhoods, and unfolds their life stories over more than two decades of economic upheaval and the tumultuous rise and evolution of China’s capital markets.

"Blue Helmet Special Forces"

“Blue Helmet Commando” is a military drama co‑produced by the Zhu Brothers, who contributed their expertise to the special effects; it is presented by the PLA Political Work Department, the PLA Political Work Department Art Troupe, Shaanxi Cultural Industry (Film and Television) Investment Co., Ltd., Chunqiu Fengyun Film & TV, Perfect World Film & TV, and Tencent Pictures. Directed by Yuan Xiaoman, the series stars Wang Yanlin and Li Xirui in the lead roles.

The series is based on a true story, chronicling the experiences of young Chinese peacekeepers who, while carrying out international peacekeeping missions, face life-and-death challenges and make significant contributions to regional stability and world peace—efforts that have earned them recognition and commendation from the United Nations.

“Good Rain Knows the Season”

“Good Rain Knows the Season” is a rural-themed TV series that underwent end-to-end post-production—covering editing, packaging, visual effects, DIT, subtitling, and color grading—with participation from the Zhu brothers. It was co-directed by Zhang Duofu and Zhou Xiaopeng, and stars Ren Zhengbin and Huang Xiaolei in the leading roles.

The series tells the story of Feng Tianlan, a graduate of an agricultural university, who, after three years working in the city, returns to his hometown—Apple Village—to pursue his dream of rural life. From taking charge of the mountain and teaching villagers natural farming techniques and his own vision for sustainable agriculture, to rallying the community through institutional means and establishing an agro‑industrial corporation, the narrative chronicles how he inspires villagers to enthusiastically and independently develop apple cultivation.

"Burning"

“Burning” is a modern crime‑investigation drama co‑produced with special‑effects work by the Zhu brothers, and brought to life by Tencent Pictures, Chunqiu Fengyun Film & TV, and Qingdao Radio and Television. Directed by Chen Yuxin, it stars Jing Chao and Zhang Jianing in the lead roles.

The series follows Gao Feng, a police officer from a long line of law enforcement officers, who, while investigating a body‑dumping case, uncovers a decades‑old mystery linked to both his grandfather and his father. Firmly convinced of their innocence, Gao Feng launches a fresh investigation into the cold case. Along the way, despite facing numerous obstacles and losing his sense of direction, he finds himself steadily closing in on the truth.

"Winning Gold"

“Winning Gold” is a sports‑themed series that features the Zhu brothers’ passionate involvement in every stage of post‑production, including editing, visual packaging, special effects, DIT work, subtitles, and color grading. It is helmed by chief director Zhang Qian, with co‑directors Yuan Jun and Tian Yong, and stars Zheng Kai, Zhang Doudou, and Xia Xing in the leading roles.

The series tells the story of Liu Zhengguang, a poor student who, in the early 1960s, ventured to the city to pursue his dream of playing table tennis. Through relentless effort, he earned a place on the national team and brought glory to his country on the international stage.

"Over the Hill"

“Crossing the Hills” is a workplace‑inspired emotional drama produced by Rongyue Film & Television and China Broadcasting Tianze Media, directed by Shen Yujie, and starring Zhang Li and Gao Hanyu in the leading roles. The series features post‑production special effects—covering sound, color grading, packaging, DIT, subtitles, and more—collaboratively handled by the Zhu brothers.

Set against the backdrop of China’s private automobile industry—where challenges and opportunities coexist—the series follows commercial investigator Ouyang Xialan, whose fate becomes inextricably intertwined with Peng Yue, the second son of the Tian Guan Group and the founder of the “Crossing the Hills” automotive research institute, during the course of a mission. Through numerous trials and tribulations, the two ultimately overcome countless obstacles and find their way to one another.

"The New World"

“New World” is a realistic drama series designed and produced by the Zhu brothers, co‑produced by Lichenchenguang and Enlight Media, and directed and written by Xu Bing. It stars Sun Honglei, Zhang Luyi, Yin Fang, Wan Qian, Li Chun, Hu Jing, and others.

The series uses the shifting fates of the three brothers—Jin Hai, Tie Lin, and Xu Tian—and the growing bond between Xu Tian and the Communist Party member Tian Dan to depict the sweeping tides of history that unfolded over 22 days in Beiping on the eve of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.

The Artisan of Castings

“Casting Craftsman” is a period drama co-edited, packaged, and handled for visual effects, DIT, subtitling, and color grading by the Zhu brothers, directed by Cheng Qian, with Ding Yinnan serving as artistic supervisor, Ren Naichang as producer, and starring Han Wenwen, Zhang Zhengyang, Chunyu Shanshan, and others.

The series is adapted from Dong Xingmei’s novel “Half a Fate with You,” and chronicles the shared journey of two generations—first navigating the early Republic of China era by establishing and expanding enterprises, then enduring the trials of wartime resistance through efforts to safeguard and protect their factories, even resorting to the painful decision to blow them up, before ultimately rebuilding their businesses amidst a tumultuous fate.

"Faith"

“Faith” is a spy drama designed and produced by the Zhu brothers, directed by Hua Qing, and starring Qin Junjie and Kan Qingzi in the leading roles. The series portrays the sweeping history of espionage during the Liberation War and unveils the remarkable clandestine front under the leadership of the red operative Li Kenong.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, as they embark on a new journey, the Zhu brothers remain true to their original aspirations and mission, sharing the same breath and destiny with the motherland.
