Jointly produced by Happiness Blue Ocean, Bona Film Group, Guowen Pictures, and Nantong Radio and Television Station, and post‑produced by the Zhu Brothers, the grand drama “Rivers and Waters,” a tribute to the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, has officially set its premiere date: it will air on Jiangsu TV at 7:30 p.m. on December 14.

The series tells the story of an old port, which, under the leadership of its new director, Jiang He, stays true to its original mission while boldly pushing forward with reform and innovation. Interwoven with elements such as combating corruption, cracking down on smuggling, and poignant emotional arcs, it offers a more compelling viewing experience than previous works in similar themes.

As a grand production marking the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, “Rivers and Waters” boasts an impressive creative team and production crew. Directed by Li Xiaoting, it brings together a stellar cast including Qin Hao, Guo Tao, Che Xiao, Kan Qingzi, and other acclaimed actors. It is worth noting that “Jiang He Shui” was filmed in just over five months, from its start on July 1 to its broadcast on December 14. As a result, the Zhu brothers faced an extremely tight schedule and a daunting workload during post-production, enduring considerable hardship and effort to deliver a high‑quality, highly efficient final product—adding the finishing touch to the series’ visual presentation.
